BACK from BREIZH

I've been to Brittany at last. I made a flying visit to all the corners of this beautiful country. (I haven't yet developped the photos because I returned yesterday) I was interested whether all the people from different towns are always different but the same in a way, as it is described by various Breton writers. And I should say - it's true! If you have understood the Bretons in general, you won't have any problem with getting on together with them but they will always have a little surprise for you. I've read "Le Gardien du Feu" by Anatole Le Braz and I wanted to see whether everybody from the city of Tréguier is so charming as the characters from the book and it's even more true than I expected:

My mother went into a shop there to buy some postcards but she got confused with the money (the euros are still a bit foreign to her). The shop assistant (a young guy of about 25) was watching her for a while and then he said: "You should be careful with money, everyone isn't good and honest..." and then he explained to her the value of each coin and he showed her how they look like. The other customers were waiting. He was just fascinating... - as everyone there.

Another city that has caught my heart was Quimper. It's true that the river has a colour of mud and that the air there is quite polluted but the atmosphere of the city with its inhabitants is just stronger. They are chatty and smiling all the time, always ready to help.
I wish I could spend months in every town, every bourg, every village in Brittany because it's a country of pure magic and one week is just not enough.
